Saint Island International Patent & Law Offices, established on February 22, 1974, is primarily engaged in the practice of intellectual property laws. Our practice includes trademark and patent prosecution, litigation, and other matters relating to intellectual property. With our head office located in Taipei, we have branch offices in major cities of Taiwan, including Taipei, Taichung, Tainan, Chiayi, and Kaohsiung, to serve local clients, and an international department which primarily deals with foreign cases, including filing patent and trademark applications in Taiwan for our foreign associates and clients, and consolidating patent and trademark applications from branch offices for filing in foreign countries.
We place equal emphasis on our domestic and international practices and, for the past years, have been able to maintain a balance between our domestic and foreign business activities.
Currently, we have about 385 staff members, with about 120 staff members in the International Department. Of the 385 members, approximately 54% are professionals in the field of patent, about 16% are professionals in the field of trademark, about 4% are specialists in litigation, about 7% are language professionals, and the rest are supporting clerks. Besides, 32% have seniority of 15 years or more, and 16% have seniority of 10 to 15 years. Members who have been with this firm for 5 to 10 years take up about 21%.
